About the Artist

Julia St. Morgan grew up and studied art in Northern California.  In 1999 she vacationed in Santa Barbara, where she 'fell in love' with the area.  On returning home she had discovered that she had left her heart in 'The American Riviera'.  Six months later she became a resident.

Julia works with oils and watercolors. Florals have always been a favorite subject matter as well as images that have formed in her mind's eye that are inspired from reading spiritual texts.  Balance, spirals, patterns and centeredness resonate through the mandala-like images giving the viewer her translation of the concepts she has taken to heart.

She has also enjoys photographing the beautiful sunsets and vignettes that are special and unique to Santa Barbara.

Julia has exhibited her work in and Santa Barbara, Summerland and Carpinteria.

Julia has been involved with the community in working with Jodi House (a non-profit brain injury support center) to curate and install the art venues in the 1st Thursday Santa Barbara since 2010, and also as Art Director Co-Chair for the 2012 Women's Festivals.
